This book was supposed to be released after Hit the Ground Dying but Dean decided to go with Angel Tears first.  It was completed in early 1958.

The story brought King Bennett back to Los Angeles and it was the last one to feature him in the City of Angels. It involved murder, blackmail, and corruption in the movie industry. Not the Hollywood variety, but the seedy, underground adult movie kind.

Miss Mockerbee, King's secretary in L.A., made an appearance in this book. She was now running her own Girl Friday type secretarial service and helped King with some leads in the case.
